Services

We provide clients with a full range of services, from initial site inspection and feasibility study, through to obtaining planning permission, implementation of the project and on-going management if required.

The various work stages are as follows:

  • 1

    Feasibility Study

We need to ascertain at the outset whether your site is suitable for self-storage development. This involves researching the relevant planning policies applicable to the site; identifying any competing self-storage businesses in the vicinity; considering the site limitations and how self-storage can be integrated with your existing business; advising on logistical issues and assessing the financial viability of the proposal.

  • 2

    Planning Permission

It is probable that planning permission will be necessary for the development. We will draw up existing site plans and proposed layout drawings; prepare supporting documentation such as flood risk assessments, environmental impact surveys and traffic surveys; apply for planning permission on the client’s behalf and negotiate with the Local Authority to secure a suitable planning permission.

  • 3

    Implementing the Proposal

Once planning permission has been granted, we can advise on various matters that will need to be considered by the client before trading can commence. These will include site preparation works; sourcing best value containers; determining the most appropriate container finance option for the client; marketing strategy; terms and conditions of business; insurance and security; staffing requirements; setting appropriate asking rent levels; financial systems and controls. In addition, we will assist the client and offer advice on all these matters for a period of 12 months from the date of practical opening.

  • 4

    On-going marketing and operational assistance.

The client may feel happy to operate the self-storage business on their own after the initial 12 month period but we are happy to provide on- going management assistance if required.
